I don't think PSA knows how to grade those - that's a really nice example and in the range of possibilities it's far more than a 3 - the centering is great, the striker is clean, the staple was removed with no damage - that's a beauty!

Thanks! I have another matchbook and it is not as nice as the one that I had graded. I want to find the 1933 and if I am really lucky a 1934 one too. |

wrestlingcardking,
Are you interested in Nagurski because he wrestled? Another less heralded player from the 30s who wrestled only during the offseason came to mind for me - Father Lumpkin. He doesn't have any football cards, but he does appear in several of these matchbook sets. Is this way of storing matchbooks a bad idea:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/231538817755...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT It looks like the seller folded the matchbooks in order to get them to fit into a card saver. How do others store them? Are there any cases or album pages for these? I don't have one yet, but I missed on my first auction recently: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-ROY-...p2047675.l2557 so I figure I'm getting closer......I bid low not only because of the condition, but with the stubs of the matches in there - I wasn't sure if I should remove them or what.... Any thoughts? Thanks. Last edited by TanksAndSpartans; 09-07-2015 at 02:58 PM. |

If you like to put your raw sets in binders, use the 6 pocket ones for matchbooks. They work really well.

John I followed your link. The matchbooks haven't been folded to fit into the card saver. They stick out a little at the top
