Good luck on the auction Leon. As already stated, phenomenal stuff. Being in CA and having the extra sales tax added on stinks so I doubt I end up with anything. Well I did already get my Leon Luckey collection card so I did contribute early.

Default catalog

I received mine today and the collection is breathtaking in print.
Having the collection in real life and parting with it must be an incredible loss.
One consolation is that financially it will bring quite a gain.
Or should I say GAIN!!!
best,
Barry

I've got the same issue here in Florida now. That's at least California, Texas, and Florida then -- the three most populous states and 27% of the country's population according to the most recent census, so I imagine there are quite a few of us in the same boat, even if those are the only states with Heritage offices.

Floridians have to pay sales tax now at Heritage? News to me.

Default Wow!

Amazing stuff you never see…or never knew existed…but now want! I have my eye on a certain silk, shhhh. But please tell me this, Leon, you must have saved a token few items just for keeps, not in auction, yes - would love to know what? The best of luck.

Default Thanks for the catalog Heritage

Heritage & Leon,

Thanks for the nice catalog.

I was bidding regardless, but now I can enjoy the collection while not on the computer.

Thanks,

Patrick

Leon,

Just received my catalog and loved the coverage.

What a great reason to sell so many of your amazing pieces.

I wish you much success with the auction and best of luck to your daughter and her education!

The Luckey catalog just landed in Victoria, B.C. about 15 minutes ago. Based on a quick perusal . . . Holy Moses! Over the years I have managed to assemble a pretty decent collection of books, magazines, AH catalogs etc related to baseball and card collecting. This volume will become a valued addition to my library. It's a veritable Cardboard Collecting 101. I would recommend to anyone who plans on sticking around the Hobby that they be sure to get a copy. It's a keeper.

Virtually every state with a use tax requires self-assessment if the vendor does not charge and collect sales tax as agent for the state. That is, you have an obligation to pay as consumer, even if a vendor doesn't charge you.

States like California regularly audit large purchases to ensure that consumers (both business and personal) have properly self-assessed.

It keeps tax lawyers in business.

I've only been into pre-war cards for maybe 4 years but this is the coolest auction I've seen yet. I will try to win an item or two but it will not be easy!
