I am surprised to hear that many regulars will not attend this year's National. That is really too bad for them as some of us are displaying new acquisitions that are special, and are new to the hobby.
Don't they know that many of the regular dealers don't really have too much faith in the AC National. I have set up at all but 4 Nationals, and the AC ones in the past had results that were near the bottom of the bunch. I still did fine at all of them in the end. Either way, stop by in Chicago to see what I turned up this year. It will likely be worth your time. I will be discounting all but my new arrivals. It also may be my only show this year. Unfortunately I, too, am not going this year. It will be the first time since 2007 that I won't be at the National. But I will see you all next year in Atlantic City !!!

And I wil be there after missing a year; Chicago is a great place for the National and if you have never been to the Net 54 get together; it's the closest thing to the old school hospitality rooms the hobby has.
Alan, sorry you won't be there. I always chatting with you.

Absolutely hope everyone enjoys the National this year. I made my first trip to one in Baltimore a few years back and will certainly make the one in AC next year.
Just a note to those going next year. Atlantic City, for the most part, is a hole. The boardwalk is so-so and the casinos, if that's your thing, are what they are. But venture a block away and things go downhill very quickly. One thought is to venture south to Ocean City, which you can see from AC but is actually about a half hour drive. That is the Jersey shore with beaches and shops. Great summer place to be. AC not so much. Tom C |

Meanwhile got first email for the so-called East Coast "national" in mid-August in White Plains. They do have a long and impressive list of auto signers....

I also wish I could attend this year but will be unable to do so. It's hard for me to take the time off from work and I have to get the money to spend on the Leon Luckey collection from somewhere.
I hope everyone has a great time and I hope to see you next year.
