I think people buying a ring for $99 understand that it's a cheap replica, no? I might buy one knowing that I would just put it up on a shelf, certainly not with any intention as passing it off as the real thing.

Absolutely - they know it's a replica and no one would get fooled buying it and thinking it's real.

I just tried to explain as much as I could from all angles.

They really do look great on a shelf.

I am amazed that ebay, the nfl, the patriots, and Jostens allow these to be sold.

Jostens has done a "replica" ring paperweight that's available through the team store. Not really close at all, but it makes me wonder if the replicas were a souvenir of sorts that's now sold out.
