Steve,
My heart grieves for you and your wife, brother. I am so very sorry. I'm a dad too and there is little to say that helps. May God carry you at this most difficult time. Please come back and join us later, when you feel you can do so. In the mean time, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, brother. ---Brian Powell |

No parent should ever have to bury their child. Please focus on what is important and come back here whenever you are ready. We are ALL behind you in this and just remember you have one heck of a support system on Net 54
We might fight and fuss over things, but rarely over truly important issues. Rich

Wish I knew what to say to help, Steve.
Around 9-10 years ago my wife delivered prematurely at 6 months and our baby boy didn't survive. By far worst day of my life. We have two boys now, 6 and 8 yrs old. Can't imagine what you are going thru, the pain you are feeling. Honestly wiping tears away right now. Be proud of young James. Giving life is no small feat. He's given it to three others. Condolences to you and your family Steve. Is there a charity we can donate to in James' name? |

I am so truly thankful for the outpouring of sympathy from all of you. ALL of your words of kindness have helped to ease the pain. I've been in the same situation as all of you and I know it's hard to believe that words can make any difference in a situation like this, but from where I am now, I can tell you just how much they mean. I'd just like the honor of sharing something that my oldest son Jack (23) wrote today on Facebook. He is obviously much more eloquent and thoughtful than I can ever hope to be:
First and foremost, let me say how incredible all of your love and support has been. It's been rough, and will continue to be, but without all of our amazing friends and family, we would be truly lost. Jimmy was a lot of things, an amazing brother, an incredible artist, and my best friend. He lived a lifetime of struggle and experience in his 18 years, and did so with unprecedented strength and integrity. His heart and soul were so pure, all he had to give was love, adoration, and care, no matter who you were. He taught us so many things, life lessons you won't find in a book or a classroom. Now he's on to the next step of the journey, and will be waiting for us when the universe deems us worthy enough to join him. Today we were given word that James, being an organ donor, saved the lives of two people, a man in his fifties, and a woman in her twenties. Though we feel grief at his passing, there are two families holding their loved ones hands, and watching another sunrise. Jimmy finally got to be the superhero he knew he was inside and I have never been more proud to call him my brother. Godspeed my little buddy. We know you're watching over us, and we will live our lives in honor of you, to change the world the way you changed our lives. I know you finally have your Iron Man suit and you're soaring above the clouds, free from the pain and suffering that holds us tethered to this world. If you're reading this, go to your family, call them, whatever. Tell them you love them, it can never be said enough. Hold them close and make sure they know what they mean to you. And never forget the biggest lesson that Jimmy taught us all: You don't need to know the names of the constellations, you just need to remember to look up at the stars. I love you my little super hero. Take care of everyone up there for us. With all of my heart and soul, I'll see you later alligator.
