After many years and constant upgrades this one finally completes my 1922 Zeenut set at 162 cards, not sure why this card is so tough (possibly because Wildfire Schulte was also in the set with Seattle which is also a tough card) but it sure was a tough one for me to come by. I still collect the 1922 sepia variations (I have almost 60 of those in addition to the 162 cards in the set)...

I also was able to pick up 3 more of the 1923 sepia players. For those not familiar with the set... It is likley that the 1923 Zeenuts were not going to be ready for production in time so they made 24 cards where they simply redated the 1922 cards and distributed them with new dates on front. The later "regular" 1923 cards are all black and white with no sepia highlights and all the poses of the players were changed to their new 1923 poses. This is a notoriously very tough set to complete among Zeenut guys, with these 3 it brings me up to 16 of 24...

Rhett --

One of my first vintage cards was a 1923 Zeenut of Chadbourne, bought through the mail in 1979. It's just a regular black and white, not one of those sepia ones.

Thanks for the kind words guys, I'm pretty happy to cross an entire set off the wantlist (nothing more satisfying than that!)

About those strange 1923's here are some examples just to show some examples of what the differences are...

Agnew: 1922... 1923 Sepia... 1923 Regular

Del Howard: 1922... 1923 Sepia... 1923 Regular

George Lafayette: 1922 (sepia variation shown-note bat & belt)... 1923 Sepia... 1923 Regular
