Twinks would be: Puckett, Killer, Carew, Oliva. Kaat is the best pitcher, but still not better than the other 3. No thanks on Mauer power

I voted for all the teams, so I could vote for the old all time greats that new fans never heard of such as Mathewson and Ott for the Giants. I don't understand how Alexander didn't even make the Phillies top 8. Last edited by rats60; 04-14-2015 at 12:48 PM. |

I voted for players from each team also. I too noticed that Clemens was missing and A-Rod is also absent. Not sure how those players can be overlooked. Ryan is listed on 3 teams?

I was going for players who actually put on Twins jerseys, not guys who were on teams that turned into the Twins franchise. It's be like saying Pedro Martinez is one of the greatest Nationals of all time. Wajo is a top 3 pitcher of all time, but never a Twin

I'm not a Red Sox fan, but I want to say that I question there eight nominees.
I voted for Ted Williams, David Ortiz and Yaz. The other five were Cy Young, Pedro Martinez, Carlton Fisk, Jim Rice, and Dwight Evans. But not Wade Boggs? Or Roger Clemens? I guess it's because they both signed with the Yankees. I think that's really petty of them. For my 4th pick I wrote in Clemens. Hey, where's the 'Stache? I want to get Bill's Brewers picks. I'll weigh in for the Pirates - pretty easy IMO ... Honus Wagner, Roberto Clemente, Willie Stargell, and Barry Bonds. People will call out the Bonds selection, but he won two MVPs here in his pre-steroids days and I'd give him the nod over Paul Waner and Pie Traynor, even though you could make cases for each.
Could also argue that Andrew McCutchen should have made it into the eight selections over Bill Mazeroski. Maz is beloved here because of his home run in the 1960 WS, but Cutch has already won an MVP with three top three finishes. He's a solid defender and a far better hitter. Even if you take only his current career (in his 7th year), I think he deserved to be there over Maz. Tough call, obviously, but McCutchen has been one of the most valuable players in baseball the past three years and Maz was never that - even for a single year.
