Didn't Topps comp one up that they never issued, and is super rare? Thought Olberman had bought a few examples. Suspect Al R. might have one as well.

Anthony-- I think that's the proof the OP mentioned. The SCD Standard catalog lists it and several other proofs from the sheet the Jackson came from in which the players are shown in different poses or uniforms from their actually issued cards. I do not have the catalog with me, but there are several of such proofs of which the Jackson is the best known. I think Bob Lemke said he had one of the full proof sheets in his office at SCD when he was there. Bob or someone else has also produced a "reprint" or fantasy copy of the Jackson Oriole card.

An internet search of "SCD proofs Olberman" should turn up a series of 3 articles KO did for SCD on Topps proof cards. I am still out of the country or would post a link

I was a huge Reggie fan back in the day. I remember one of my first cards ever pulled from a pack at 9 years old was a 79 Reggie. I knew he had been an Athletic, and I of course worshipped him as a Yankee...but when I flipped that card and learned he was an Oriole it literally blew my mind. When I finally was able to trade for a 77 Reggie, I was super upset that it was obviously poorly airbrushed...I was ticked at 9 that it looked so bad, haha. Reggie being an Oriole was one of the biggest mythilogical big deals in my childhood. I couldn't see it, picture it...let alone believed it!
![]() Seeing this thread brought me back to that 9 year old me...THANKS!
