Can't really answer what they are exactly, but I remember having the Ruth one hanging on my bedroom wall when I was about 10 (which would be 1983).

I think I went to Cooperstown when I was 10, so maybe it was something they sold at the HOF?

To me these look remarkabley similar to art by Renata Gallaso. I am looking through a few databases right now to see if I can locate their exact usage.
