I think it was a great buy. Wish I had found it or at least bid on it. This card would fetch 4-5k going through a AH with a big mailing list. I might in the minority for this statement.. I would rather own a post card with a cancelled stamp on the back and writing, than a clean back. Who needs to get it graded when it has all that. There are some other Cobb 1906 postcards out there which were done as advertisments by local companies. Probally about the same population on them.

Do you have examples of these others from 1906?

Steel Tubes earliest postmark was 1907 if that's the one you're referring to.

Im thinking of a laundry card of the entire team. I bought one years ago from Brian D at National. He is from Michigan and always turns up cool and unusual things.

yes, please. I'd love to also see another Cobb from 1906!

I threw in a healthy snipe but got blown away. Kevin - congrats! I actually haven't seen one for auction in quite a few years. I seem to recall there being a website with all of the W601 postcards EXCEPT the Tigers pc, so I figured it was pretty rare.

That site belonged to our own Mr. Steve Murray, was his white whale for a long time.

Steve actually sold me my first postcard. Damn you Steve!
