Slightly off topic but something that bothers me these days is the multitude of different footballs being used in college games.
Not just different gamer's by each team but they are different colors, different stripes and huge logos. What happened to the old Spalding J5-V? When I was in school the ref brought out the ball and we played with it? Now there are Spalding balls, Nike Balls and this past season I saw Under Armor balls? Light brown, dark brown, white stripes, black stripes and I saw some metallic gold stripes. Back in the 70's in the old SWC the kickers used their slick balls like the ones we used in our yard as a kid and perhaps a little helium???? Just an old guy rambling about the good ole days.
