I have wondered why T206 scrap cards are not considered mis-prints, as per cards that are missing a color, etc. In fact, in the SGC graded cards on this thread, one sees "Color Variation"...so I assume that applies to both scrap and mis-prints (or missing color) cards? I also wondered what constitutes a T206 scrap card; now I know from your post, and I also understand the rarity of such cards now (before I thought they were just printer errors with several out there....). Thanks for the education! Always learning, which is greatness! |

Great QUESTION!!
all scrap ARE hand cut and not issued in ANY packs! never made it out to the public....only privy to the printers or the DUMPSTER! ![]() AMAZING they survived....every one is like a precious snow flake and different... they are all unique onto themselves....are all hand cut and NEVER NEVER can have a numerical grade..... as for "color variation" SGC and PSA basically, just don't know how else to label THEM ![]() they are that mysterious ![]() but myself and a few others here have.... they are quite amazing.....please email me ANYONE with a scrap question... I LOVE to answer THEM ![]() |

sgc is great when labeling scraps....they were the first ones to try to classify them.....
when they put "color variation".... it's basically them acknowledging the CARD HAS EITHER 1 or MORE layers of ink MISSING !! not "faded" , just never PRINTED! ![]() theoretically, there should be "sister" examples of each scrap, if a sheet survived of a particular sheet set up, then some examples could have survived, just the probability of them , even sole examples, are slim.... Usually the card needs a few layers missing for them to do so.... but some of us here, can even break down the multiple layers... oh boy id love to label these scraps! ![]() ![]() Last edited by mrvster; 01-23-2015 at 05:36 PM. |
