+1 Taking responsibility is the best way to handle a soured situation. Board members are in fact very forgiving as long as no one is out any money. We all have something we have to deal with. I was lamenting I had no cash yesterday....BUT I have cards

Just be more careful in the future and don't make the same mistakes. That can be incorporated into everything in life, actually.
