Easy question for an old collector.
The backs of the 1956 Topps by a wide margin.
Back in 56 when I collected them any boy knew what was on the backs better than the picture on the front. Lots of info in the cartoon captions.

My single favorite back from all of Topps' issues is the 1954 Ted Williams #250. All cartoons...

Al - I suppose the 1958 Bouchee is listed on the back of teh Washington Senators card; and that the non-bouchee version is one of teh check lists from teh second series. Or is this a new variation?

Default Bouche

He was listed in the first checklist and dropped on the second. I had wondered for a long time if some proof or actual card of Bouche was created before they pulled or eliminated it. But if it existed it surely would have turned up by now.

He had a card in 57 and in 59 after reinstatement. I wonder if he would have ever been permitted to play again if it had happened today

I have one in my set, but it is a Mr Lemke creation

By decade

1950s: I like 1959 Topps, I get the bios, the cartoon & year by year stats. I am a big stat guy so that matters a lot to me!

1960s: 1967 Topps (honorable mention 1960 Topps but having only the previous season & life time stats hurts them in my opinion)

1970s: 1971 OPC

Thanks,
Scott
