FWIW, I saw the person that sold the Mantle and Foxx that the OP was asking about. I do not know him personally, but he sells a lot of raw autographs, and I have bid on quite a few myself this year from memory...a few Ruth's, lajoie, etc. every time I bid I scanned his other raw autographs and they always looked good to me. He sells some authenticated but mostly not, and good quality raw stuff too. I would be confident buying from him in general, from what I have seen in the past.

I didn't save the ones from earlier this year, but here are a couple recent Ruth's by the same seller (I had bid on the cut Ruth). I was interested in both.

The most positive thing I can say is that they were both signed by the same person and it was probably not the same guy who signed the Mantle.

Jeff, I would stay far far away from those Ruths. I am really surprised that you would even think that they are anything but bad.

I think they must have fooled some others as well as I am fairly sure that both had big name third party certs, one might have even had both, I can't recall for certain but will look. I can check and see if I can find the images of the letters too for prosperity as well, just to confirm with myself that my memory isn't going haywire :-)
