Kevin,
That's definitely a good one! A good YEAR by any measure.

Default 2014 Top Autograph pickups

I can never narrow these down to one, but here are my favorite 2014 autograph pickups:

Most unusual, coolest and best deal:
Four autograph sheets from the Army Navy Pacific Rim World Series in 1944 that contain
36 HOF & ML players, in addition to many others that served in the Navy in WWII.
For my collection, unbelievably cool and rare.

For my no-hit autograph collection, two real toughees:
GPC's of no-hit pitchers Earl Moore and HB "Dutch' Leonard.
Earl Moore tossed a no-hitter that was lost in the 10th inning in 1901 (1st year of the AL junior circuit). HUB Leonard tossed two no-hitters for the Boston Red Sox, one in 1916 & one in 1918. Both of these pitchers had very early death dates.

My favorite is a new Ruth that is arriving toward the end of the year. A close second is a new Ty Cobb that will arrive a few days before. Pics when they arrive.

I've kinda gotten away from sports autographs the last couple of years and have been working on Presidential and Historical graphs when I do have time.

This is my favorite pickup of the year.

The Catholic Monarchs, and two people very influential in the discovery of the Americas.

Document signed by King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella in the Summer of 1492 (yes, THAT King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella) as Columbus prepares to set sail for the Indies in nine days and the remaining Jews – all were expelled by edict – prepare to leave Spain within eight days. Documents signed by the pair are sometimes encountered, but ones from the year of Columbus, 1492 are VERY tough.

Manuscript Document Signed “Yo el Rey” [I the King] by King Ferdinand V of Spain and “Yo la Reyna” [I the Queen] by Queen Isabella I of Spain, 1p, 8.5” x 6”. In Spanish, not translated. Penafiel [Spain], July 25, 1492.

Countersigned “Fernando Alvarez,” the Queen’s confidential adviser and secretary. Docketing on verso. Remnants of prior mounting at lower edge on verso. Fine condition. Over 522 years old. Without question, the best piece in my collection.

Tough to say a favorite whenever you fill a long term want list. My three autographed baseball highlights this year are Roger Bresnahan (1927 Washington Senators and misc), Miller Huggins (1929 Yankees w/clubhouse Ruth) and Jack Hendricks (1927 Cincinnati Reds) which allowed me to complete every Cardinals manager on a baseball back to 1909.

Mike,

Great piece! Also from the same year they defeated the last Moor stronghold at Grenada.

Talking

I personally don't like the slant in Ferdinand's last name

I didn't pick up a lot of autos this year, but I did get a couple really nice ones.

In the sports arena I got this Cy Young 3x5 that I framed myself.

In the non sports arena is this Star Trek item
