I agree that Bonds should be inducted. It's the hall of fame not the hall of good people. .

My 10 votes (if I were to use the max) would go to the following:

1) Barry Bonds
2) Roger Clemens
3) Randy Johnson
4) Pedro Martinez
5) Jeff Bagwell
6) Larry Walker
7) Curt Schilling
8) Mike Piazza
9) Alan Trammell
10) Mark McGwire

The following 10 would be up for consideration and some would be in if I didn't have to allocate votes to players that should have already be in:

11) Edgar Martinez
12) Craig Biggio
13) Mike Mussina
14) Nomar Garciaparra
15) Tim Raines
16) Brian Giles
17) Gary Sheffield
18) Jeff Kent
19) John Smoltz
20) Don Mattingly

I don't have a lot of faith in the voters getting it 'right' - once again, several won't vote for deserving candidates just so they can have their moment in the spotlight (to explain - Ruth, Aaron, etc. didn't get 100%). The writers are only human, and are thus subject to all the same faults we all are...so, as much as statistics, great memories, great performances, and character should and do matter, it really comes down to a popularity contest in some ways, like the All-Star game, only to a lesser degree.

Who do I believe will be voted in this time: Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, and maybe Craig Biggio. I really wish Smoltz had retired a year earlier and gotten in with Maddux and Glavine, and I think he may suffer from comparisons to RJ, Pedro, and also to Schilling and Mussina who haven't come close.

After three getting in last year, I'm not sure it will happen again the very next year.

I agree with Clyde. Although I'll say again that Piazza dominated his position so much more than Biggio, and the innuendo is so slight for his being on steroids, that I think it's a crime he isn't in.
