Crazy how many jerseys a player wears in a year.

Thank you, Mike.
Scott, that's funny. And I know, this was pretty bad of me to get all these. Couldn't stop myself.

Was lucky enough to win this almost mint Rockford Peaches pennant…no bends/holes/tears… which later lead to finding 3 original programs as well as several playoff programs and finally a 1947 team signed photograph for my collection.

I don't usually buy tintypes, but I loved this image. The condition is so nice that I had doubts about it being real, but I've been told independently by a tintype expert, and a photo expert, that it almost certainly is.

Nate - Very good pick up on the Soria jersey's. It is amazing how many different jerseys some teams have today over the course of the year with third jerseys and Negro League jerseys. I must say you couldn't give those away in my home city of Detroit after his performance in the Playoffs this year!

Finally got around to posting this Cavetown, MD. cabinet card I picked up last month, while visiting the antique stores in Adamstown, PA. I passed on this at first due to price, but couldn't get the sharp image and great contrast out of my mind. I ended up calling the store back a few days later to have it shipped.

I’m pretty excited to add this early 70’s original Clemente 8X10 to my collection. It has the photographers stamp on the reverse. It appears to be from the same photo shoot that generated the image used for the Rawlings Advisory Staff Member photo. Prior to this one arriving today I did not have an attractive original photo of him in the uniform of my ’71 Bucs. Every time a nice one comes up for auction I am a chronic under bidder. The eBay scans did not do it justice so I gambled and made an offer. I got it very cheaply

Mike notice the stripes on the sleeves are reversed. The manufacturer made a mistake on that batch of jerseys. I've seen a couple of these jerseys. Cool photo.

John, Clint, and Adam, thanks for the nice comments. I didn't even notice the reversal of the stripes or consider that he was sleeveless. I was very happy to add it to my collection at a price that didn't dampen my enthusiasm. This is why I prefer memorabilia over cards. There are still the occasional trinkets available to be found by the diligent collector on a budget

If it is just little spots, you can flick them off with an x-acto knife (or carpet cutter). You can also rub just the spot, lightly, with the blade, and it will take off a little dust at a time. The next step after that would be to clean it and then seal it. If you think it looks unattractive as-is, and it's value isn't high (I don't know), then you can certainly restore it somewhat, very easily.

Jon,
I had my eye on that bat also. Can you tell if it is cracked? The paint splatters should come off if you rub them with denatured alchohol. |

Thanks Mike. I do not have the black version of the pennant. I would like one at some point. I believe the one I have was purchased at the same time as the program was during the series since I purchased them together from the same guy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Three different Cleveland Indians season passes, including World Championship season of 1920, issued to Mrs Guy Morton. Guy Morton pitched for the Indians from 1914 - 1924.
Assuming that the pass was also valid for the World Series, and that as the wife of one of the players, she would have attended, the 1920 pass was likely used to witness Bill Wambsgnass' unassisted triple play in Game 5. Interesting personal notations on the back of the 1924 pass show some income and expenses, such as 75 for Rent and 20 for Car. ![]() ![]() |

Picked up this vintage 7 x 9 image of Mickey Mantle and Hank Aaron at Yankee Stadium during the 1957 World Series.
This image was used for the 1958 Topps card number 418 - "World Series Batting Foes" Although I am a Yankees fan, Hank Aaron was my favorite player as a teenager in the late 1960's - early 1970's as I rooted for him to become the all-time Home Run King. The International News Photos stamp on the back didn't come out well in the scan, but it is the one used from 1949 - 1957, according to "A Portrait of Baseball Photography" ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Not the best pic as it was taken with my phone. Uniform was originally listed as a "road uniform". The style and pinstripes clearly made it a home version and I knew that when I bought it. The garment was fairly evenly toned and soiled. This pic is post conservation cleaning.
