If you really want help, give the full story, not just 2-3 clip-line sentences. You give no one anything to go on so far.

Sir, these guys would like to help you. But you are not giving anything for them to help with. Thats all from what i read. Theres really no way they can without any pics, serial #'s or where they were bought from.
Recently a guy got robbed (post-war) and provided in depth list and etc. Was able to recover some of them with some of these guys help and the police across many states and ebay.

I would help but the longer Edward handles it this way the less credible his claim looks.

Alex,

Yep, that sneaking suspicion.

The OP: "any advice would be most appreciated"

Many above: As much information and details as possible as to what happened.

The OP now wants to debate on whether the claim is real or not rather than provide as much information as possible?

Ed, I have to tell you that until you provide more specifics of the crime, I am inclined to side with Alex here. I think that before you get on a forum to report your briefcase being stolen, you should have called the police, or informed the hotel management to see if they have any video that may show something. Once those matters have been taken care of, then post what happened here. Maybe you already did those things, but if you did you never said.

Ed, I'm not calling you a liar, but everyone needs to hear all the details and what you've done about it so far so that you can get some good advice, like you asked for.

So you don't want to provide info so we can help you get your cards back, you would prefer to dabble in theoretical debate?

No clue what your motive is, other than to create trouble. We are trying to help you and you are NOT answering questions that would help us help you. Give us some history on the cards. When were they purchased? When were they graded? Where in Maryland were you, what day were they stolen, why don't you have pics/scans of the cards that you love so much? If they were purchased via auction in the last 15 years we might be able to HELP you by looking online for auction photos. People have come on this board before asking for help, and since we are trying to help them, they are nice and engage in meaningful discussion and answer the questions we ask them. You know, they cooperate.

Some people lie when they're on the internet to create drama. Some people lie to get attention. Some people lie because they're trolls. Some people lie because they have mental issues.

So I'm curious as is everyone why the op had his t3s in his briefcase at a hotel. Could be something innocuous ie:

I wanted to bring the cards to work to show my boss, then on the way grabbed a drink at a hotel bar and got robbed

Or something more sinister:

I had to bring collateral to show the bookie I could pay if need be then I got robbed. Or I was going to pawn these cards temporarily for a fix, then I got robbed.

Or a combination of the two:

After showing my buddies at work my cool cards I went to meet a hooker at a hotel. The pimp met me there and proceeded to rob me of my cards.

I am enjoying this choose your own adventure thread! Whatever the reason I still hope he gets those cards back
