The seller was Steve Novella. My experiences with him have always been wonderful.
The Marquard - Sovereign (PSA 8 - old label) was an exciting piece to watch, and went out at $5800. Some of the cards, like Speaker ($1375) and the Young portrait ($3300) had such tremendous eye appeal despite grades of only EX 5. An epic group of cards, really. If some appeared to go under slot, maybe collectors just get a bit overwhelmed when there are so many great things to choose from? This was a very fun auction!

Yeah, was fun, I did end up with one, which I thought proved to be one of the better buys.
