Update: It was an old man just wanting to get rid of it. He didn't care about money:

I would stick this guy on your "internet ignore list", along with the Cincinnati boys. This is about as interesting as your t.v. being stuck on the Hallmark channel.

This exact same card was SOLD on eBay, closing on July 6, 2014, for $100.00
It was listed in the Title as REPRINT. |

I must admit I once took a chance on a couple "goudeys" that were listed as reprints. Seller had others that had sold as real, cards didn't have obvious reprint things. In hand they weren't even out of the plastic before I knew they were reprints. Good looking ones, but still reprints. Since they were sold as reprints and were only ten bucks I figure I'll make a display piece out of them someday. And of course while they were in transit the feedback came in on the others that had sold as real.........Yep, all reprints. Steve B |

Just an update, speaking to the reporter, mars gave the reporter permission to contact sgc to find out what happened, then he quickly took that permission away and refuses to allow sgc to speak to the reporter covering the story. He is still selling it on craigslist and claiming it to be 100% real. Isn't that fraud?

to the Reno Nevada police department. Maybe others should do this as well. I let them know this was not just an ordinary fake baseball card but that it's value if real was hundreds of thousands of dollars. I gave them the info of SGC where the card was submitted so they could give them a call.
