According to the HOF Dressed to the Nines database, which was compiled by Marc Okkonen, the White Sox wore striped pants 1914 -1917, 1919, and 1920. No other pinstriped uniform were used during the rest of the years from 1915 through 1930. Also, there is no mention of the blue-purplish stripe down the leg like in your example. I also don't see it in the picture you posted, but they are a bit far away to tell for sure. Here is the link to the Chicago WS uniform from 1910 to 1930. http://exhibits.baseballhalloffame.o...ement=18&pos=1 Hope that helps your research. I would love to see if you have any provenance that definitely links the pants to the White Sox. Please show it if you do.

The bottom left hand corner of this 1919 Tribune ad shows that the Thomas E Wilson & Co. sold uniforms to anyone . |

When dating or trying to establish a possible range for pants, you may want to pay attention to how the belt loops are affixed; both as a function of number and location. For example do the pants in the image that you are comparing yours to with feature:
1. A certain number of loops and then larger tunnels on the side or back. 2. A loop located in the center of where the pants are joined at the button line. 3. A pair of loops close to the center, then spaced loops with out tunnels. My point in all this pants have physical traits that have changed over time just as can be found on jerseys. These can also vary my manufacturer as well. Dave Grob DaveGrob1@aol.com Last edited by Dave Grob; 09-18-2014 at 05:55 PM. Reason: Correct Typo |

Jeez Louise...did this guy find the supplier for Coach's Corner?
If your c1910-20 uniform pants have a hall of famer's name magic markered into them, you have been had.

Interesting alteration on each leg around the knee area. Professional quality tailoring?

I think if you compare the fabric of your pants with known period major quality examples as well as fabric sample catalogs, you will find this fabric to be of a lesser quality. Once of the ways you can assess this, even without physically examining the fabric is through the weave. In this case it becomes much easier since these feature a pinstripe.
