Just my opinion but I think a 56 Topps Robinson would show a classic 50's style card with a familiar name more than the Fleer Williams might.

Great suggestion on Jackie Robinson Drew. Because of limited space and presentation I want to have all vertical cards. I just looked at Jackie cards and found the 1947-66 Exhibits card might fit my needs for the 1940-49 section. I know nothing about the exhibits cards are they similar in size to a regular card? I also need to keep the graded case sizes somewhat close to the same size.

I think a J.Robinson Exhibit is a great idea for the '40's slot. They are the size of a postcard.

Ty Cobb would seem like a must.
Probably Ripken 82 topps traded over Boggs?

A Cobb would be great if I could find something cheap, any suggestions?

The Boggs is the only card on the list that is not up for debate, he is my favorite player.

I would use South Dakota players but very few would know who the are. Space is limited so I could ask for a little more room if they are interested in some home state players.

You might be able to find either a Cobb game card, ie polo grounds, Tom Barker, national game, or a strip card from the 20's. I'm not a strip card expert but I know one might able to be had for a fraction of some of the other period card.

for the 1940-49 slot, go for 1941 Double Play Bob Feller / Joe Krakauskas

While Ted & Joe are more representative of the year and Stan would be a good option as well, you have to go with the Star who enlisted first for the conflict that shaped not only that decade but our nation ever since.

Sounds like a grand idea...wish I didn't live so deep in SEC football country, maybe we would have something like that.

Good Work and Good Luck,
Raymond

Here is a updated list of what I have and what I still need. I am also thinking about adding 1880-89 and 1890-99. I have found several cards from 1880-09 but don't see anything from 1890-99, is there anything and if so I would like some suggestions.

1900-09 LOOKING FOR pretty much anything cheap.

1910-19 1910 T206 Jim Scott SGC 10 Jim was born here in South Dakota.

1920-29 1928 W513 Al De Vormer PSA 5

1930-39 1932 Sanella Babe Ruth Have one I need to send in for grading.

1940-49 LOOKING FOR 1947-66 Exhibits Jackie Robinson raw or low grade from any company.

1950-59 1957 Topps #1 Ted Williams PSA 3.5 Nice well centered card I would trade for lesser value Graded 59 Fleer Ted Williams and other need(s) from this list.

1960-69 1962 LOOKING FOR Topps #18 Mickey Mantle & Willie Mays raw or low grade from any company.

1970-79 1974 LOOKING FOR Topps #2 Hank Aaron low graded from any company.

1980-89 1983 #586 Wade Boggs PRO 10

1990-99 1993 LOOKING FOR Topps #98 Derek Jeter raw or low grade from any company.

2000-09 LOOKING FOR anything Barry Bonds graded that is cheap.

2010-Present LOOKING FOR anything Miguel Cabrera graded that is cheap.

Thanks to a earlier post about adding South Dakota players I found out that we had 1 person from the little town I live in that made it to the Majors. Kevin Stanfield he pitched 3 innings in a Sept. call up for the Twins in 1979. He also played for the Visalia Oaks and Toledo Mud Hens in the minors. I found his 2 minor league and only Topps cards, they are also going to be displayed.
