I picked this R316 premium photo for my Sam Rice card collection in the recent Mile High Auction. But I am keenly disappointed to have been outbid on this Holsum Bread - Rice card in last week's SCP Auction:

I was about to fall asleep at my PC shortly after midnight, so I increased my already-winning max bid, confident that I would win this card! "You win some, and you lose some" - but, the losses stay with me a whole lot longer than the wins, especially when I am the first under bidder!

"Irwin Fletcher" had an amazing collection of signed Diamond Stars for sale and I ended up snagging all but one of his HOFers (still kicking myself for passing on the one, Lloyd Waner). I have been picking them up here and there ever since, as well as other signed pre-war stuff. I think DS are perfect for autographs and given they have similar color schemes, look great displayed together. They seem to come up for sale here and there. Luke, those Caramels just jump off the screen. They're truly beautiful.

Erick-congrats on some great additions. I'm going to be the last pre-war collector on Net 54 to own that Gehrig at the rate I'm going.

Dan-I don't know if PSA is any harder on staining. But that Lajoie is incredible no matter what the grade.

CrazyDiamond-that's one of the nicest PSA 1s I've ever seen. Great eye appeal!
