David Wells and Babe Ruth's Cap
Wells bought the cap for $35,000 and pitched the first inning wearing it in a regular season game. He had a 3-0 after the first inning, when Torre made him take it off and the Yankees started to tank. Wells didn't last after the fourth. The Yankees then went on to lose big. Torre fined him after the game. The cap has since been sold at auction, setting a record.
