1970. There are variations of some of them, but apparently not of Lou Brock.
There was a good discussion on them earlier in the thread in the 1970 cards. |

According to sschauer's 1970-71 Dayton Daily News checklist, there was an updated Dayton Daily News Lou Brock card from the May 22, 1971 Dayton Daily News edition, but it was mistakenly numbered #80 rather than the correct #88. I have never seen the updated one, though. The original #88 Lou Brock was from the July 4, 1970 Dayton Daily News edition.

This display for autographed baseballs is unique. I am guessing 1975 based on the 4 Dodgers and Lou. Maybe they were sold in N.L. parks, and since the Dodgers won the pennant, and Lou brock Wills SB mark, they were featured? Just guessing anyway, but either way I found it on Ebay, and have never seen another.

I really liked collecting the many MSA discs from the mid to late 70's. I have all of them except for the dozens of hard to find different hand stamped Carousel discs.
Here are 2 of the toughest to find as a sample representation. The first uses the Linnett drawings and was apparently given out as a sales sample of some sort. The second are the cup lids, which are real tough to find. |

This 4 in 1 is relatively tough to find.

I think the 77's are cool and this OPC 9 card sheet is real cool.

...You know, I think I'll finish my little story over on the autograph section. There's probably an autograph collector or two that wonder what the Hell these are. But, anyway, here's your Brock. |

Reposted here is David W's display for the autographed baseballs in previous post. Believe it or not, they are personally autographed!!! All on the sweet spot.

hey david,
thought you might want this. free of charge naturally. bought a 77 cloth stickers back proof sheet/blank front which was pretty much toast to begin with. it had stains, holes, rips, tears but also a couple of nolan ryan/pete rose proofs on it which was my reasoning behind the purchase. anyways, it has 2 brocks (the better one shown) and thought you might want it. i cut it up as best as i could ensuring each salvageable card was cut over sized so the new owners could slice it to their taste. anyways, if ya'd like it, just pm me a usps label or something and they both are yours. if not, no worries there either. ![]() ![]() Last edited by begsu1013; 10-29-2015 at 04:38 PM. |
