Do you really think the card would grade an 'A'? Sounds like a '1'. From SGCs website: Poor; 1. This card usually exhibits many of these characteristics: heavy print spots, heavy crease(s), pinhole(s), color or focus imperfections or discoloration, surface scuffing or tears, rounded and/or fraying corners, ink or pencil marking(s), and lack of all or some original gloss, small portions of the card may be missing. The hole in his gut I file under small portions of the card may be missing. The card exhibits none of the rejection codes for an 'A'. There is no trimming, coloring or any other alterations, etc. Last edited by Paul S; 08-12-2014 at 12:23 PM. |

I'm certainly no expert on how they grade cards like this. I agree that it sounds more like a "1" than an "A". My point was just that it isn't strange for a low grade card to remain raw in someone's collection, and I wouldn't have any qualms buying one like this from a reputable dealer.

Paul, Are any of the E90-1's available for sale. If so, I'd be interested in the Leever

And I'm assuming those holes are from being tacked to a wall long ago. Is that reasonable?

As far the holes, not sure. Everyone I know refers to them as something to the effect of "that shot-up set". Pins are a viable guess. That could explain why the Cobb has all that paper loss, as if someone yanked it off a wall. The browning around the hole might suggest rusting. However, target practice is just so much more romantic ![]() |

I was thumbing through some of my cards, and found this one that I love. I think it proves that your Wagner would receive a "1" grade:
