1914 Cracker Jack - Trimmed or not Trimmed?

Please let me know your thoughts on the pictured 1914 CJ Zimmerman. My eye tells me there is a sign of a trim to the top border, with a bit of a wave to it. But when I held it up to a couple of other '14 CJ's I have (both graded), the size seems to line up the same.

So, my question (and I'm not too well versed on these, so please forgive me if it's obvious): could the waviness I am seeing at the top be attributed at all to the delicate thin nature of these cards? Is it possible it's not trimmed along the top, based on what you see here?

Any feedback would be most appreciated - thanks!

Id have to say that top left border looks trimmed, its isn't straight and the back matches the front area in question.

Knetzer: likely not trimmed

Zimmerman: BADLY and very obviously trimmed. Looks like by maybe the hedge trimmer?

PS: The top border on Zimmerman looks a little like Route 66. Bumpy and dangerous!

Still looking for what you think grading companies allow for CJs being a little short or thin and still get a grade. Sixteenth of an inch or what?

A friend of mine that sold many of his 1914 CJ's recently told me the tale of one of his 1914's. He had a Psa 2. He cracked it and sent it to scg. They graded it as trimmed. He then sent it to Bvg and it graded a 4.5. That should let everyone know what TPG knows about 1914's. Serious inconsistency bordering on incompetence.

I don't think that BVG has any problem in assigning a grade to a trimmed card. I have seen it too many times from them. As to the original posters question, the CJ measures correctly at 2 1/4 by 3. I do not see anything that would lead me to believe the card had been trimmed.

1/16" is definitely within limits and even closer to 1/8" IMO in extreme cases. If you figure for every card with fat borders there must be an opposing card(s) with short borders. My Meyers card is huge, 3/16" big both ways so that could affect 4 different cards being shorted. My Rickey was a psa 4 and measures 1/16" short and is definitely not trimmed.
