Great day at the Robert Morris today. I was able to upgrade a few cards with Uncle Dick and others. But, more importantly, I was able to find a nice deal on a solid EXMT-NRMT '61 set with nice Mantles and crisp Hi #'s (especially the All Star cards). My set run is now void of holes from '57-85. Now the real work begins - rebuilding the card bankroll between now and the National.

Default A couple for the Hall of Fame rookie collection

The Palmer rookie is still one of my all time favorite cards - that confident look of a premiere pitcher about to take the world by storm - right on the precipice of a dominating career, Cy Young awards and World Series rings. It just captures that moment right before so perfectly.

And why this Drysdale is a 5 is beyond me. Maybe the color is a little muted, the borders a couple of touches off center but otherwise I could look at this card all day long!

I hate the constant obsession with Mantles around these parts…but I picked up a graded 1961 WS card, so here it is…

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.

Darren, that card is just awesome, I mean its a PSA 7 and all, but ITS A MANTLE - can' get any better. Just kidding D!

I'll keep with the '61's - nothing earth shattering but two variations I needed. I'm down to 3 "regular" cards and 2 variations for my set.

The '61 set is a bear, Bill!! Good luck finishing it up. I have a ton of extra high numbers, but there's no one out there who got 'em to trade.
