Despite the damage, they are still beautiful looking cards.

SGC seems to have had ongoing problems with the supersized holders.
The same thing happened to me with a 1939 R303-A Goudey Premium of Ted Williams. I bought it from David Bryan a few years ago. He of course, shipped it very well, but the slab came apart from the bottom right corner, half-way up the side and across the bottom. The card also popped out and dropped down behind the black gasket. Anyway, I took it with me to last year's National, and had SGC reslab it. There was absolutely no damage to the card, and I had it back from SGC within just a couple of hours. Steve

The same thing happened to me recently with a rather expensive Old Judge proof of Kid Nichols I bought in Hunt Auctions. The card slid in the holder and scraped the bottom edge. I was breaking it out anyway so not a major issue. The large holder is just a piece of shit.

Sean,
You are so dramatic stating your cards are completely ruined... The Net 54 group of collectors are very fond of SGC and you won't get much traction bashing them here. Honestly, just about every time I log on to Net 54 and see a post by you, I feel a kind of negative feeling. What can it be this time? Self promotion, some kind of scandal or scam, scammer situation that works out, or you getting ripped off etc. I am glad you buy big deals and have the dollars to pay the highest prices for cards (which you do not), but gaining respect from your fellow collectors and dealers is way more important in my opinion. Hey, I' no picnic in the hobby and have ruffled more than my share of feathers, but I just don't get it. With National coming up I know you will want as many people as possible to stop at your table, but with your continued drama and perceived attitude you may be sadly disappointed that some here will not. I have been around the hobby since 2001 mainly on the fringe and wish you the best. You would have been eaten alive on the old board. Oh well, guess you don't know about the old board. Let me have it. Matt Engle Ohio Last edited by Matt E.; 05-09-2014 at 08:58 PM. Reason: typo |

Sean,
With all due respect to other grading companies, SGC is in my opinion the best in the business. Not only do they provide world class grading, but world class customer service as well. They will take care of You. |

Same with me.I sent in an Old Judge cabinet to be reslabbed, and just being mailed back, the card is not secure ,and also the name tag???The slab is too loose and will not hold this larger card in place.
