I would soak them in a bowl of warm bottled water till the stamps easily come off the cards. Then use a q-tip to remove any glue residue on the card.
I would never try wetting just the area with the stamp only because I would be afraid it would leave a stain on the card in that area. This is just my opinion as I have never tried it. I have soaked nasty stained/musty smelling cards and I know you need to soak the whole card or it will leave a stain were the card meets the water. |

Ben you may be correct, I have read on this site that post 52 cards seperate in water so my thinking was just try the spot?
I did the spot work on an entire 53/54 Parkhurst hockey set years ago and they turned out great. |

I think you want to use distilled waterfor soaking or blotting.
