Well ol' Buck is on the move again. He's been spending some time out west. I've been told that there should be some new photos coming soon. In the meantime, here's the updated map.

Hi all,

I usually just read posts on the pre-War side as I do not collect cards. I like this thread for all of the travels. I do not travel as much as I used to, but I will be going to Switzerland on May 20 for an event at the International Olympic Committee HQ in Lausanne. If this card has never been there I would bring it, but someone would need to clue me in on what to do.

Default Buck's Western Adventures

Never west of Iowa before (if you disregard Seattle and Alaska), Buck heads to California to find out how the West was won.

Buck and I meet with the “Father of the Monster”, Bill Heitman, in Santa Ana for ice cream and card talk. We discuss “Monster” history, the vintage card hobby, the Monster Number Thread and Large Ass participates with his history.

Bill signs my “Monster” book with Large Ass as a witness after finishing his ice cream.

This picture of three hobby icons shows that a good time was had by all. (Well maybe only two icons: Bill and Buck)

Before our trip Buck enjoys Bowling, kicking back and few rounds of Golf.
In late April Buck and I head off on our road trip through the West.

In Las Vegas we catch a PCL game between Tacoma and the Las Vegas 51s.
Buck meets Cozmo, the alien mascot, a real treat and many fans. The 51s win easily 11-4.

After a few days in Vegas (and Buck is quite the ladies man) (but what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas) we head out to the Virgin River Canyon in Arizona.

In Utah Large Ass meets the buttes and goes for a short climb on this beaute.

In Colorado Buck chats about obsolescence with a T. Rex. He really doesn’t want to end up in a museum like this Bad Boy.

We had hoped to catch a game between the Iowa Cubs and Omaha, but it was rained out. Nevertheless Buck works up an appetite through Nebraska, South Dakota and Minnesota all rainy states, before getting his first meal in Wisconsin.

Buck’s specialty in golf is the short game particularly putting. Here he is lining up a tricky 3 footer.....................nothing but cup.

However Buck trips over the hole on the way off the green. Unable to extricate himself in time, he gets beaned by another putter. Fortunately he passed the concussion protocol before packing his bags.

Buck has opted for an opportunity to visit Switzerland next and then off to Portugal on a separate trip. I will give him some medication to take along so that jet lag from crossing the “Pond” four times is not a problem for him.

It has been a pleasure entertaining Buck, who met a lot of folks along the way. And as we trotted off to the East each day, I could hear the whispers of the local town folks “Who was that Slabbed Man?”
