T207 Davis - 'C' variations

While I can't explain it either, I don't think there is any other Blue on the card to shift, or the Brown for that matter. That is one of the "bluest" ones I have seen, most are just a shade to two darker than the white should be, kind of a dirty "C".

Thanks, Scott. I just louped my brown 'C' and the entire 'C' is speckled brown, not smeared. I'll get a hi-res scan today and post in this thread.

Esoteric stuff, but kind of a break from the usual T206 print anomaly discussions

Here's evidence of another Blue C Davis card:

The same REA lot in 2010 has a "Brown C" Davis card, but it seems to be mislabeled by PSA. The C doesn't look very dark on that one.

Granted it has some blue tint to it, but there is no other blue print on the card, nor do any of the Cleveland players have blue print. Other teams like St. Louis have blue logos and cap bills, ditto Pittsburg and Brooklyn. I can't see any color added to any other Cleveland cards where by it could have been omitted or added in error.

There does not seem to be a logical explanation, yet we see more than one example.

I have one and my good friend Ashby has one. I found a blue C on another player I posted here months ago too. I agree, something with the printing but a neat result for us to wonder about indeed.
