as you know, i think this is a really nice photo, especially with the various types of cameras. i dont have the conlon photo reference book anymore, but from memory it could be conlon kneeling 2 to the left of mcgraw. i hope someone can be of more help. it is worth keeping this thread alive. may be a identifiable sportswriter or two also.

Not so sure about the kneeling guy being Conlon, as his ears seem to protrude much more prominently than Conlon's did. Several shots of Conlon for comparison:
