Help identifying Rawlings pant tags Jack Clark St Louis Cardinals
I am trying to learn more about these pant I picked up. What I think I have is pair of Jack Clark game issued/used pants from 1985. Does anyone know what the numbers mean? I can match the style for sure on the pictures of Jack Clark.
All opinions are welcomed! |

35 denotes the waist size; 28 denotes the inseam and 85-1 denotes 1985; set 1

Hmmmmm. Then I'm puzzled about the 34 on the Rawlings tag with the 35 stitched in. The stitching looks the same on the 2 pieces (the Rawlings tag & stiched tag).

Let out
The pants were likely let out. Rec'd as size 34 (typically 30, 32, 34, 36) and then let out one size for use. Marked as such by team tagging.

So what does everyone think about these? Do they look team issued or did they have such a thing in 85 on pants. I'm not well versed on game used pants. |

I am not familiar with Cards tagging but I have Jays pants from the '80's that have similar strip tagging. I say most prob legit.

Most game pants, even from star players are typically much less desirable and thus inexpensive as compared to jerseys, gloves, helmets, etc. - no logos, no visible numbering typically, tougher to display fully. Full uniform collectors like them but they don't seem to be widely sought after, keeping the prices down and reducing the likelihood that pants are fraudulently fabricated.

I've noticed that about pricing. I found these at a thrift store in the KC area of all places. Paid 6 bucks for them. I wonder what the story is behind them? |

That'd be pretty cool if they were used in the 85 World Series!
