I think most people aren't offering a solid opinion because this is a very atypical Ruth autograph. Most of the letters are generally spot on but there are also a bunch of inconsistencies. Mostly what was already stated. I personally don't like the "G". For someone who wrote "GH Ruth" thousands of times, this "G" is certainly a bit different. I'm certainly no expert but I feel that I'm pretty solid on Ruth. I wouldn't buy it, but wouldn't be surprised if it was found to be authentic.

I certainly appreciate all of the info and opinions. I agree strongly with you guys. Some spots look good, some look off. It was supposedly signed for a bar owner, maybe Babe was drunk.

As has been stated, it looks good in many ways but the "G" looks drawn and is not consistent with his usual "G" as in his formal signature. Possibly the "Gyp" was added later?
