Great article...

Ok, Evans is my new hero, based on that body of work and those creative/expressive logos. Of course some of his best stuff would be deemed "politically incorrect" today.

I can really see the resemblance of the college pennants to the 3D Dodgers/Giants Pennants.

His company was even based in my old college stompings grounds... Fullerton. In honor of Arthur Evans, I'm posting the photos below...

Default Dodgers

Mark, the Dodgers three D pennant is my absolute favorite pennant of ALL TIME!! Every time it comes up for auction (which it is few and far between) it goes for crazy money. Again I am impressed with your outstanding collection

Bob:
I love it too... be patient... they turn up about once every 2 -3 years. As a frequent under-bidder, I am keenly aware of this

Mike:
Yankees is the toughest of the three, as you probably already know... I saw an image about a decade ago, but neglected to save it. Now I can't even remember it... a neat Uncle Sam variation, I think.

The availability ranking definitely goes...

1. Dodgers
2. Giants
3. Yankees

I love this thread. Here is the large Minnesota Twins pennant. I no longer own this pennant as I sold it a couple years ago but it was a good 6 feet if I remember correctly.

I have an old printout, which I scanned. Not a great pic, but it'll have to do for now. I can't even remember where this picture came from.....could have been ebay.

Agree.... Yankees 3D is a holy grail.

Thanks, Rob for finding that image. Even though it's blurry, you can see how incredibly cool that pennant must be.

Rob, those two 3-d pennants are/were mine, that is the old floor of my basement. Same Giants pennant Mark has pictured (on my pool table). I sold the Yankees pennant about 10 years ago and kept the Giants.
