That does seem like a good fit, but let me throw out another possible. Eddie Mathews. He was a batting coach for Oakland for a short period of time and that is immediately who I thought it was seeing the face before I looked at other peoples guesses. I may be wrong, but I would be willing to bet money on it. Hope this helps, Jason

Thanks guys - I am confident that is Lee Walls. The definitive confirmation came from someone who covered the A's at the time, so between that and the similarities to his cards, I'm sure it's him.
Appreciate the feedback and to those who sent me messages that the Mantle sig is good - I was pretty sure it was, and didn't think a pic with an obscure coach was the typical medium for too many forgeries, but you never know! |
