Totally agree, Steve. As a Red Sox fan it's hard to hate this guy...he is classy and handles himself well. No doubt he will get a standing O in each of the final 3 games in Boston!

Just wondering....will the Yankees retire his number while he is still playing?? Maybe during his final homestand?

Has any player ever had his number retired, only to come back and wear it?

This is what the 24/7 media has made the game about, the larger than life players. Not saying he isn't a team guy, he sure appears to be a great team first guy. But these guys are so used to being fawned over and served since the first person notices that they may be extraordinary. I could not care less about these victory laps, he's been celebrated for 20+ years now.
