If the standard (drums/bass/2 guitars/singer) rock band mix is the only choice, you can find my choices listed above. If we're stepping outside of that very small box, my true dream band would begin with this:

Frank Sinatra - Vocals
Jo Stafford - vocals
Louis Armstrong - Trumpet and vocals (imagine the call-and-response with Frank and Jo)
Jo Ann Castle - Piano
Ray Charles - Organ, keyboards, and vocals
Benny Goodman - Clarinet
Gene Krupa - Drums
Tommy Dorsey - Trombone
