WD40 is what you need to use....lighter fluid is too strong...would ruin the plastic. If you MUST use goo-gone, use the water based formula!!!! Trust me....I have damaged quite a few slabs cleaning them wrong...

I use whiskey, drink enough of it and you won't notice the glue!

Along the same lines, I use electricity. Put the slab in the appropriate vault, replace the lid, turn out the lights as you leave the room and voila.....the glue residue has vanished.
