Card looks good to me and correctly graded. I think what you are seeing in the top left corner on the back is bleed through from the name on the front which is common with Goudeys.

I agree with the others. I see an authentic card there. I'm not an expert but I hope I've picked up enough on these boards and by handling some Goudeys in person. I do understand the concerns your bring up though and the cracking on the case is definitely not good and should raise eyebrows off the bat. That said, I have more than a few cards that I've cracked like that from simply dropping them. The blue background looks a lot stronger than most Goudeys, but the price seems off if they want to move it.

The PSA holder has clearly been tampered with. The previous owner of the card also "sold" it twice on eBay--once on 7/14/12 and again on 12/7/13. My guess is that the first buyer had an issue with it and returned it for a refund, never paid for it in the first place, or shill bidding was involved.

Pete & Mike-- how funny is that? As I was typing that, about words looking strange sometimes, I thought, "What if I'm the only one who experiences this?" Glad to see I'm not alone LOL

FWIW, I made a very strong offer; it would have been the second highest paid on VCP for a 4-- and it was auto rejected.

Here's mine, purchased from Tom Witek (Piedmont Cards) at last summer's National in Chicago. Same characteristics on the reverse...

I remember doing this with friends years ago. The one word I remember that cracked us up was the word.... Camera.

Camera.

Camera. Camera. Camera.

Huh what? A camera?

The original one being talked about looks real. Interestingly it has 14 offers on it. That's a lot of offers.
