JOE D

You put it quite well....it is indeed a great way to start the New Year.

Say, I missed you at Cooperstown last Summer. I hope to see you there this Summer on HOF weekend.

Thanks....and, take care.

I missed the Minor & Southern Leaguer's auction. Was that auction as good as the Major Leaguer's auction ?

The prices were pretty high for the southern leaguers, but some were manageable. There were no standout stars or backs like there were at the major league one. I think the only good one besides the southern leaguers was Joe Kelly.

Default 520-card T206 set live auction in Buckingham, Pennsylvania

Last week was the first time I was at Brown Bros.; and, I thought the Major League part of the T206 auction went pretty smooth.

The auctioneer, Blaine, was very professional. Did the prior auction of the T206 Minor Leaguers go as smooth ?

Yea it went just as smooth. They actually did a very good job of researching every single card prior to the auction. Blaine is a really great and hilarious guy. He is incredibly knowledgeable of almost everything that he auctions off. It is just a very nice atmosphere there which is part of the reason that I keep coming back. I am one of the youngest people there, so some of the auction veterans are always helping me out.

This is a great thread. I know Blaine quite well as he handled the auction of my mother's estate last year after she passed away. Blaine will talk your ear off, but at the same time, every single thing he says is interesting, so I love it. I live in New England now, but my wife and I are hoping to get a long weekend this spring, head down there for a few days, and include an auction with Blaine. He usually has some good oil paintings - though I prefer art on small pieces of cardboard.

It's a shame to see such a great T206 collection that someone really took great care of to be broken up and not passed down within the family, but I guess that's the way it goes. Either the family had no interest in it, or needed the money. It sure paid off for Ted, and I'm jealous I wasn't there to expand my modest collection!
