I'm currently pursuing a Topps run from 1952-2000 of Detroit Tigers. I'm down to my final 3 cards. Cards from the base set only. I don't like the oddball sets.
Also going after all Tiger cards from the Monster. 4 shy of that pursuit. I may chase the 1948-54 Bowman (I dislike the 55's).

Four cards from T206 - nice. Any Cobbs? What do you need for your Topps run? |

I need the Cobb green and bat on (both will have to wait due to $$). Along with the Jennings 1 hand and port. 1961 B. Fischer (have 1 lined up), 62 Colavito AS, and 66 MacFarlane. I stopped at 2000 because I stopped my sets there too. Reason being, storage space and apathy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am currently collecting the 1959, 1960, 1962, and 1968 Yankee Team sets, these sets don't have to be the usuall topps, bowman, or leaf, the player and year matter more but I would like to someday get the topps, bowman and leaf cards. I am still a ways away from completion

Are you gonna go after any oddball sets of the Dodgers? There are several with many Dodgers (NY Journal Americans, Berk Ross, Stahl Meyer, Red Man, Red Hearts, Wilson Franks, etc.)? Ben |

Great thread. I collect only Cleveland Indians cards. I have all Topps and '48 - '55 Bowman except for the '49 Satchel Paige which I am looking to acquire soon...I hope. Really enjoy the Goudeys, Play Ball, Red Man, T206, Batter Up or any oddball card issued before 1970.
Also been building a comprehensive checklist using Excel over the past several years. Its has been a challenge and a lot of fun. |

Also working on 1954-1986 Topps Orioles. Don't want 1987 and up as 1.) those sets absolutely do nothing for me and 2.) the Orioles have tons of players on those teams whom I would LOVE to forget. I already have a Brooks RC (SGC 84) and a completely signed 1966 team set (all PSA/DNA Authentic). Should be able to get it for around $1000-1200. Would also love to add all leader, all-star, multi-player and other specialty cards.

How do you all store and display your team sets? Binder? Top loader and penny sleeve?

BTW, to answer your question, I've got them in 3 binders now, each year is sorted by card# and at this point I am setting blank spaces for card# I need. I do have a Brooks RC, still missing the 1967 topps one though. I am working on collector grade (even some of the 1950's are Fair to VG) Do you concentrate on higher grade?

Only a couple of those-I have the Red Hearts because I just love the look of that set and I have an Erskine from the Wilson Franks. Not sure if I will go after the others.

The Red Hearts Erskine was my first oddball Dodger, and I too, love the look and color of that set. The NY Journal Americans are visually pretty bland, but it has 18 Dodgers. That's a sizable amount for a regional issue, and I appreciate the odd shape, the paper stock, and grainy photography.

Another Cardinal collector here. Need the '52 highs and most of the really tough modern cards, like those pesky '62 Jello's and the test issues. Have many of the Cardinals postcards, just missing a few toughies (Jack Damaska and Bill Smith where are you?). Picked up quite a few pre-war including the T206's, T205's, 1933 and 1934 Goudey's and the Play Ball cards over the past few years and now have my sights on the Cracker Jacks. I have found patience to be a virtue. There are so darn many Cardinal cards to collect, I just try to keep my eyes open and wait for the right card at the right price in the right condition.
