Supply and demand (demand outweighs suplly in this instance)! It's also the "card of our childhood" for millenials like myself!

He is left off all the steroid lists. So no steroid allegations means his UD card still sells for a decent price.

Default its an iconic card

Thus the value will always (at least for 30-40 years) be more than what the real value should be. No biggie, if you don't want the card at a level you think is too high, don't buy said card.

If you listen carefully, you can still hear the UD presses banging out sheets of this card.

LOL, It is both. At least the Xmas rack sealers where not making the cards. Not only did UD make insane amounts of extra Griffey cards they also made extra sets of SP Hockey sets, counterfeited Yu Gi Oh cards and lets not forget all the fake autos they put in there SP Legendary Cuts product.

Tis the season. Someone just listed a bunch of those on ebay this week, I think they were hockey cards.

For some reason I cannot bring myself to drop even $20 on this card...It's a beauty and I understand its significance. Still, seems like anything more than $15 is too much...
