I don't have any proof on paper. I just know what happened. I bought it from the Ebay seller in Cambridge, who yes did have three other balls, but he listed all 4 balls. I bought the one that is now in the Heritage auction.

I probably could go back to feedback I left for others, because I always leave feedback, find out who that original Cambridge seller was, then look at his feedback, and I'd think he rec'd feedback for the other 3 balls, or at least a couple.

So that would be my only proof, and if really need be, I could eventually ask the Cambridge seller what else he had, Shoeless Joe Jackson, Ty Cobb and Honus Wagner balls, quite certain that wasn't the case, cuz we talked back then and he told me what he had. He had no reason not to say if he had those. He said he had a couple he had found and he listed all he found.

Is the consignor setting the table for a later consignment of the other two balls by trying to link them to this one, as a way to make some fake balls look legit?

I thought there was someplace on the internet (maybe worthpoint.com?) where they store old ebay listings. Maybe the original listing is still there?

Heritage is foolish if it takes consignors word as gospel. If there's no supporting provenance, just judge the item on its merits. No need for a story.

Yes, worthpoint is the only way to go back that far. It doesn't give the seller's ID or ebay item number though, which makes it tougher to search for specific items. If you can find the listing title by going through feedback as Paul suggested, you can see if it's among the archived listings. Even with knowing the title it can still be hit and miss as they apparently don't archive EVERYTHING.

Actually this auction I find interesting from a medical point of view. I'm trying to figure out what type of therapy this gadget facilitates. I wonder if treatments using this machine were efficacious and affordable.

Ironically, the only one that I couldn't pull up the original listing for was the one Paul bought (like I said, it's a crapshoot). Here are the other three though. No mention of any signatures on any of them, for what that's worth, though the "Vim" ball had a photo of a very clear Art Nehf signature with personalization dated 1932 on the sweet spot. Very minimal descriptions from the seller all around.

Probably a home electroshock unit from around 1900, or a bit later. It may or may not have produced enough for a shock, some only make enough juice for a bit of a tingle.

They were supposed to be good for a variety of problems.

That one is a bit nicer looking than some, but not as cool as the really crazy ones like the one pictured here

Quack medical devices is a somewhat popular collecting field.
