Sorry for your loss Rich. I had an up day as a veterinarian as it was my first day back to work after my spinal stroke 3 years ago. I still have it in me. Life is good in my part of the veterinary world but I am truly sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear about your dog. I've been through this a few times, and it's always been very tough. A dog's life is short. I'm pretty sure that you made it a good life.

And KMAC, glad to hear that you're back at it.

My condolences Rich. We lost a lab puppy to distemper over the summer and that was a hard loss for us. Having a dog for that long and losing it must be that much more difficult.

My heart goes out to you, Rich. They're very few things that are worse than losing a dog-friend. I'm sure you gave Heidi a great life.

Sorry to hear about your dog. I had to put my 13yr old Rottweiler down last Friday because of bone cancer. I cried like a little kid.

Rich, I am very sorry for your loss.

I, too, am an animal lover.

Six months ago one of our cats (Matty) had a heart attack overnight. He hung in there until I could get him to the vet and then he passed in my arms. It was heart-breaking. It always is....

Be well.

That sucks Rich, losing an animal that defines "unconditional love" is a tough thing...

Default schnauzers...

I grew up with Miniature Schnauzers...they are so loyal and loving...GREAT lap dogs. I was devastated when my Schnauzer "ran away" when I was 12. Be happy that you and your pet were able to stay together for so long. Tough loss, but try to look at the positive!
