Some more additions to the Monster collection. The Merkle is very, very nice, and will be graded at some point.

I've collected baseball cards off and on all my life but these are my first pre-war cards. If you add it up, I don't think I've spent as much time looking at a single card as I have since I got the Tinker. And it just showed up yesterday

This post is a gentle reminder that I need a new scanner.

Got this for a great price from Sterling. One of the harder common players to find

Finally was able to pick up a Fro Joy Ruth. Beckett Authentic due to trimming but I couldn't care less. I finally have a Ruth!

I picked up my fourth T206 HOFer this month. It's just the way I like them, great looking front for the grade and a presentable back with imperfections that I am willing to overlook.

Best,

Eric

Right before the bell. Here are a few more of my October pickups, including my first Goudey (which happens to also be my first Ruth-era Yankee Hall of Famer!)

Thanks to Erick, Zach and Ryan for the great cards!

Congratulations, Grant. That's how it starts, you know. Buying one card, followed by hours of staring. Pretty soon you're fighting the temptation to buy everything in sight.

Default John Tiedemann 1912 Zeenut

Picked up this E136-2 1912 Zeenut of John Tiedemann to add to my collection.

I have seen this handwriting on a bunch of PCL cards.

Is this Buck Barkers notations?

Default Not Buck

Hi Patrick,

This is not Buck Barker's handwriting. Mr. MaCrae has informed me before about the collector responsible for these notations, but I unfortunately do not remember. He would probably, like all things Zeenut and PCL related, have this information at the tip of his tongue.

Brian

Thanks! I'm having a lot more fun than I have with the modern stuff, though there's still a soft spot in my heart for rare 90s cards.

Since my dad's retirement, he's opened up a booth at an antiques mall and is getting really interested in antiques and collectibles. I work for COMC.com and am always talking about cards, so I got him looking at prewar cards and now he's hooked on T206. He's bought a handful of them and I thought I'd grab the Tinker so we could start collecting together.

I have a feeling I'm hooked, too.
