Just as no one wants 1986 Sportflics now (while it's plentiful), no one will want 1986 Sportflics when it's rare.

Demand <<<<<< Supply, no matter the supply

I'll liquidate some of my Iraqi dinars and invest in wax boxes. I've been looking to diversify my portfolio.

Anyone who thinks a 1981T wax box is junk please sell it to me at a junk price. I will buy it all day long.

You can keep the 86T wax and Sportflics however.

So true. I suppose then the experiment would require an issue with some inherent demand, like say 1986 or 1987 Topps. There's the cost of buying extant supply, versus what the remaining handful of boxes would command after all others were opened. I can see it: Last 1987 Wax Box On Earth Fetches 500k!

Crazier things have happened, lol.

This reminds me of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory where Sotheby's auctions the last box of Wonka bars in England, with the Queen phoning in a bid. Additionally, a wife of a kidnapped husband is seriously debating whether the ransom is too high when he asks for her box of Wonka bars.
