Can the experts help me with this Larry Doby rookie card??

These Bowman printing errors are fun to find. And, unlike other "printer's scrap" cards, many of these cards were found in Bowman Gum wax packs.
As a very young kid in 1949, I recall opening up Bowman 5-cent packs and occassionally finding a color error card such as these.

Your Doby card was printed with a Yellow background color; and, is a tough Hi# (#233) card. The SLATE version that you have is quite rare.

So Ted...I am guessing that the card is a printer's scrap and the wacky cut came from the factory that way? Would it behoove me to clean it up a little or is the funky cut part of the appeal of the card?

A few more overprints....the backs of the two cards on the left are actually Double overprints, resulting in "3 printings"....1948 Bowman BasketBall,
FootBall, and Movie Stars' images.

This is not necessrily so. Uncut (36-card) Bowman sheets exist that were most likely taken out of the printing firm by employees back in 1949.
Subsequently, these sheets were hand-cut by collectors.

In my next post here, I will display such a 36-card sheet.
